I am sitting in my chair doing the happy dance......let me tell you why i'm so excited....do you guys remember what one of my New Years resolutions was?.....if you don't remember let me remind you....i made a promise to myself that i would not allow my fears and or my shyness get in the way of me trying to get my writing published this year
let me tell you something, things happen for a reason.....just recently i submitted one of my non-erotic pieces [title, "I am"] to another online publication, though they liked the piece they asked if i would consider removing the spanish inserts that were deliberately written into that piece.....i was truly heartbroken when they asked, but i stood my ground and despite wanting to get published, i would not compromise my original write, the poem was to stay as is even if that meant i would not be published......
well, like i said things happen for a reason....the other day while doing my daily rounds of reading and commenting on my subscriptions, i came across a blog that mentioned a site that i once submitted the very same poem to......but, when i did, the site was unbeknowing to me undergoing major changes, and i never recieved word as to whether they liked it or not and if they did would they publish it........like i said things happen for a reason... in that blog they mentioned that site, and so i went over to take a look at the new changes. while there i decided what the hell im going to re-submit my piece.
it is a latino online publication with a big emphasis on the Puertorican Culture. it's truly a really nice site i encourage my fellow latino and latina brother's and sisters to mosy on over and get to know the site, you wont regret it. *doing the happy dance again*........ and so, this is the response i got:
This is the intro written to showcase me and my written work:

A word from the Urban Jibaro...
In a time where the world becomes smaller by a combination of the six degrees of seperation and technology...I bring you La Voz de Cinnamon Irrizarry, a poet who just a short time ago realized her dream of being published, which was one of her aspirations for the year 2007. Her voice can be heard in many different moods via her MySpace blog where her following waits on edge to read what is on the mind of the Poetisa that is....Simply Cinnamon. Buen provecho!!!
